Siamo a 168 miglia da St. Lucia, se il vento regge dovremmo arrivare entro 24/h. Come spesso succede le ultime miglia sono le più lunghe, ormai si sente profumo di terra e con la testa si è già arrivati ma manca ancora un ultimo sforzo ed è importante rimanere concentrati, non fare errori che possano compromettere la bella navigazione fatta fino a qui. Purtroppo ieri sera è morto il generatore, probabilmente lo sporco nel gasolio lo ha fatto spegnere e nonostante il tagliando improvvisato questa mattina con tanto di filtri nuovi non sono riuscito a farlo ripartire, ormai manca poco all’ arrivo e gestiremo queste ultime ore ricaricando le batterie con il motore. Il caldo continua ad essere il nemico più grande e ci sogniamo tutti un bel tuffo nel mar dei Caraibi!

We are 168 miles from St. Lucia, if the wind holds we should arrive within 24/h. As often happens, the last miles are the longest, by now you can smell the earth and in your head you have already arrived but one last effort is still missing and it is important to stay focused, not to make mistakes that could compromise the beautiful sailing done up to this point . Unfortunately last night the generator died, probably the dirt in the diesel made it shut down and despite the improvised service this morning complete with new filters I wasn’t able to get it started again, it’s almost time to arrive and we will manage these last hours by recharging the batteries with the engine. The heat continues to be the biggest enemy and we all dream of a nice dip in the Caribbean Sea!
